Loch Ness MarathonOur global fundraising campaign hit the Scottish Highlands on Sunday, 28 September with The Loch Ness Marathon and Festival of Running.

Gavin’s good friend Davie Shannon ran the Loch Ness Marathon September 28th in support of gavinliveslife.com.

Here’s a report from Davie on his challenging experience and photos from his sweet victory that followed.

Well done Davie!

4:16:46 was my time.

A tough, tough course. Very hilly, challenging, but beautiful scenery.

I was running well until at about 18 mile. My right calf muscle cramped up. I struggled for the next 3-4 miles before finding a pace that I could cope with.

I was so delighted to finish for team Gavin.

I said at the end ‘never again’ but now I’ve had a change of mind! I’ll definitely go back to Inverness at some point to run this route again.

Myself, Kerrie and the kids had a great weekend. The weather was kind to us. It was ideal running conditions, dry, the sun was out but not too hot.

We stayed for two nights in a local hotel and had a of couple lovely dinners out and most importantly got the job done for Gavin.
